Hi, my name is Jo
I’m a dance teacher with a BA (Hons) in Dance and Culture and over 10 years’ experience creating inclusive, joyful spaces for people to move, connect, and express themselves. I’ve taught in a wide range of settings, including after-school clubs, dance schools, care homes, and community centres.
Alongside running Everyday Dance, I also work as a Performing Arts Teacher in a specialist SEN school. I hold a Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning from Laban and am a trained Sherborne Developmental Movement Practitioner.
I’m passionate about making dance accessible and meaningful for everyone. I’ve worked extensively with children and adults with disabilities, and I use movement, props, music, and sensory tools to support emotional regulation, communication, and connection.
I truly believe in the positive impact dance has on wellbeing, confidence, and the sense of connection and joy it can bring. At Everyday Dance, my mission is to create a welcoming space where everyone can enjoy dancing, feel empowered, and experience the incredible “feel-good” power of movement.
